He stated that pests, fires and forest smuggling in Gilan are generally single-rooted, he added: Forest and pasture pests are mostly single-rooted and not widespread and the same applies to fires and smuggling.

Karamzadeh announced the global registration of 50,000 hectares of Hyrkanian forests in Gilan and stated: Hyrkanian forests of Bousar Talesh, Gesht Rudkhan Foman and Siahroud Rudbar were registered globally after passing the standards.
He stated that the strategic committee for the protection of Hyrkani forests has been formed in Gilan, and added: The preparation and compilation of sustainable plans for the management of Hyrkani forests has been realized.

Identification of 29 catchment areas in Gilan
Karamzadeh announced the identification of 29 watershed areas in Gilan and added: The detailed plans of these areas will soon enter the implementation phase.
Emphasizing the removal of fire beds in the forests of Gilan, he added: the increase in temperature, lightning, hot wind, decrease in soil moisture, as well as the carelessness of people and travelers lead to widespread fires in forests and ceremonies.
The supervisor of natural resources and watershed management of Gilan stated that fires in forests and pastures mostly occur in the second half of the year and said: In the past 11 months, we faced a decrease in the number of fires and a 37% increase in fires in the province.
Karamzadeh announced the existence of 4 thousand kilometers of wildfires in Gilan and added: Forest roads of Gilan also play the role of wildfires in the protection of forests.
Referring to the block division of Gilan forests, he added: Gilan forests are divided into 322 blocks.
The supervisor of natural resources and watershed management of Gilan stated that one million forest areas can be guarded and protected with only 500 people, and said: In developed countries, a guard and protection officer is considered for each hectare, and on the other hand, all the facilities are provided to the people.
Production of 2.5 million seedlings in Gilan
Referring to the transformation of natural areas, Karamzadeh said: These areas have been handed over to the Housing Foundation for the creation of rural constructions.
Pointing to the reasons for the increase in pollution, he added: the warming of the air and environmental pollution and the hardship of urban life in the metropolises have doubled the human need for forests and nature.
Head of natural resources and watershed management of Gilan, referring to the commitment to plant one billion saplings in the country, said: Planting trees in different places should become a public demand.
Karamzadeh continued: Planting 32 million trees was the contribution of Gilan in planting one billion trees in the country.
He announced the production of 2,500,000 seedlings in the nurseries of Gilan and added: According to the plans, this number will increase three times in the following years.
The director general of natural resources of Gilan, referring to the characteristics of having the title of the pole of wood cultivation in the country for this province, said: Gilan has a commitment of 1,000 hectares of wood cultivation, where more than 1,000 trees are planted for each hectare.
