You may not believe that in the middle of Azerbaijan, you can find a desert 30 km away from lush Tabriz. One of the special tourist spots of East Azerbaijan is Ghom Tape Desert, near Ghom Tape Sofian village. But the desert, which can become a leading tourist area with a little investment, is unfortunately going to be lost, its soil is being removed in an unprincipled manner and now there is little left, and like Lake Urmia, it is almost on the verge of complete destruction.
