Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi said: About 40 million dollars worth of handicrafts and traditional arts products have been exported from this province to other countries since the beginning of this year.

According to Kental travel news report, quoted by Ilna, Seyed Javad Mousavi added in this regard: the largest share of exports of Khorasan Razavi handicrafts is related to the products and handicrafts of precious and semi-precious stones, carpets and traditional handwovens, as well as traditional ornaments.

He said: The sale and export of handicrafts will increase in the month of March and the upcoming Nowruz days due to the increase in the number of pilgrims and travelers, and we expect to see a significant increase in this amount during Eid.

Director General of Cultural Heritage of Khorasan Razavi said: More than 22,000 male and female artisans are currently working in the field of handicrafts in the province and earn a living from this activity.

Mousavi stated that this year 56 billion tomans of support facilities have been paid to the handicraft artists of Razavi Khorasan, and he said: In addition, the province has now paid about 27 billion tomans of facilities from the appropriations of note 18 of the country’s budget law. It ranks first in the country.

Referring to the favorable and high capacity of traditional arts and handicrafts of Razavi Khorasan at the national and international level, he said: 140 national quality marks have been issued for the handicrafts of this province so far, which is a unique capacity.
