We saw an increase in travel to southern regions, especially Hormozgan, in the last 2 months of the year with a nearly 60% increase compared to last year, which is expected to continue.
The director general of domestic tourism development noted: With this trend of increasing travelers, the occupancy rate of accommodation centers in Hormozgan, Bushehr, Sistan, Baluchistan and Khuzestan provinces, which are among the main travel destinations, has reached over 90% for Nowruz.
Fatemi added: A proposal was made to close before Nowruz, but it was not agreed. Therefore, we will not have an unofficial holiday, but the trips have started early due to the upcoming holidays and people have started their trips.
The secretary of the country’s travel service headquarters pointed out: the travel service headquarters will start working in the provinces on the 16th of March, and reports will be sent from this day that we should all be prepared for the high volume of trips and be able to control the conditions.
Fatemi continued: We will have 12,000 buses during Nowruz holidays, which was more than last year, but the situation in sea transportation is improving and good things have happened.
In another part of his speech, the director general of domestic tourism development said: A memorandum of understanding was signed between the ministries of urban development and tourism last year, and a good thing happened in the field of marine tourism, and the expectation of the people is to be able to have a large recreational boat on the beach during Nowruz. They can use this year.
He continued: Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Municipality and the General Administration of Ports and Maritime Affairs and other agencies should act in such a way that the traffic and special cases that occurred during the past closures do not occur.
The secretary of the country’s travel service headquarters added: The entrance to Bandar Abbas city should be considered, because 60% of the country’s road accidents occur within 30 kilometers of the cities, and the establishment of the camp in cooperation with the police, Red Crescent and emergency services can create a stop and prevent accidents.
Hormozgan is expected to host 6 million passengers during Nowruz holidays
The governor of Hormozgan also predicted in this meeting that Hormozgan has been introduced as the hub of marine tourism in the country: during Nowruz this year, we will see about five to six million Nowruz travelers in the province.
Mehdi Dosti added: Most of these trips are carried out with the aim of sea tourism and visiting the islands in Hormozgan, and on this basis, the necessary arrangements have been made and with the addition of new vessels, the number of seats has increased, and we have taken strict measures regarding the safety of the old vessels. Travel with complete security.
He clarified: The organization of places that are free and eco-friendly for travelers has also been done, and the people applying to accommodate travelers must provide services in the same format.
The high representative of the government in Hormozgan province stated: In order to create tourism facilities in the islands of the province, it is planned that a significant amount of necessary equipment and machinery will be transferred in the remaining time.
