1.Dr. Mohammad Esmail Tashid, The Father of Iran’s Modern Anesthesia
He was one of the founders of modern anesthesia in Iran and he made fundamental changes in the education system of Iran in the field of anesthesia, which led to the training of a new generation of anesthesiologists in Iran. This doctor received “the book of the year” award in Iran for writing his book.
2.Professor Majid Samii, a Prominent Figure in the Field of Neurology
Majid Samii, a neurosurgeon and physician, is currently the head of his own the private hospital for neurosciences in Hanover, Germany. He has conducted important studies in the field of brain swelling and peripheral nervous system repair and reconstruction. This well-known doctor, a prominent scientific face of Iran in 2007, has the positions of adviser to the Chancellor of Germany, adviser to the President of China, president of the World Brain Base Surgery Association and received the highest honor of the Chinese government in his career.

3.Dr. Yahya Adel, The Father of Iran’s Modern Surgery
This Iranian surgeon is known as the father of Iranian surgery. The greatest art of Dr. Adel was that he removed the fear of surgeons from surgery and encouraged them to turn to surgery and succeed. Of course, new techniques and the advent of antibiotics contributed to new successes in surgery and his fame. This doctor died in 2003.
4.Dr. Mohammad Qoli Shams, The Father of Iranian Medicine
He is called the father of Iranian ophthalmology. Shams is the founder of Farabi Ophthalmology Hospital as the first specialized ophthalmology center in Iran. At the time of his death (1997), he was the oldest member of the French Ophthalmology Association and was elected many times as the president of various ophthalmology associations in the world.
5.Dr. Masih Daneshvari, The First Lung Specialist in Iran
He was a lung specialist in Iran. Among the patients who were saved from death by his efforts was a person named Mr. Razagh Manesh, was considered one of the richest people in the capital. Therefore, after recovery, together wirh Dr. Daneshvari, they built Razak Menesh Hospital in Tehran. Dr. Daneshvari also played a pivotal role in the establishment of several other hospitals such as Abu Ali Hospital and Firozabadi Hospital. Masih Daneshvari finally died in 1969 in Tehran.
6.Dr. Haratun Davidian, The Father of Modern Iranian Psychiatry
He is one of the founders of psychiatry in Iran. Haratun Davidian has been the source of valuable services in the field of psychiatry by holding executive, educational and research positions and responsibilities at the national and international levels during nearly half a century of continuous and uninterrupted scientific effort. Professor Haratun Davidian, the father of the modern science of psychiatry in Iran and the first assistant in the field of mental diseases in the country, passed away in November 2018 after many years of effort and activity.
7.Dr. Jalal Barimani, The Father of Modern Iranian Neurology
Barimani had a certificate of specialized education in the field of neuroscience and psychology from the University of Paris. He was also the founder of the Iranian Neuroscience Association. This doctor published the first articles on Iran’s neurology in international journals and represented Iran’s neurology in international societies for many years. “History of medical relations between Iran and France” (written in French and Persian) and “Dar Asemane Adab” (written in Persian) are among his works. This high-ranking teacher finally died in March 2010.
8.Mohammad Hossein Mandegar, The Father of Heart Transplantation in Iran
He is the founder of Heart and Lung Transplantation Institute of Dr. Shariati Hospital, and in the summer of 1994, he registered the first successful heart transplant in Iran. Dr. Mandage is currently a professor of cardiac surgery at Tehran University. Mandegar founded the heart surgery department of Dr. Shariati Hospital in Tehran, which later became one of the most productive and famous university hospitals in Tehran in the field of heart surgery.
9.Dr. Seyed Ali Malek Hosseini, The Father of Liver Transplantation in Iran
He performed the first live-to-live liver transplant in Iran and was introduced in the medical encyclopedia as the father of liver transplant in Iran. Malek Hosseini was recognized as a prominent figure in the field of vital organ transplantation and vascular surgery in the second period of prominent faces. This skillful specialist, is the head of the Middle East Organ Transplantation Association.
10.Dr. Esmail Yazdi, The Father of Modern Dentistry in Iran
He opened the first modern dentistry office in Iran and at the same time started working in Tehran’s Pars Hospital as the head of oral and maxillofacial surgeries and performed the first jaw surgeries according to the modern method. Yazdi was promoted to the rank of professor in 1975 and due to his brilliant academic, educational, research and executive activities, in 1991 he was honored to receive a distinguished professor’s plaque.
